NinemIle Creek by Loren Williams on Fri, Jul 9

I am not going to participate in the thread "maybe it obvious."

However, I will confirm that Ninemile Creek (below Marcellus) is augmented by numerous running springs and large seeps that, coupled with dense canopy, keep the water temperatures in the 50's and 60's even under the hottest conditions. I can never recall a temperature reading above 63-degrees through the middle section.

This is perfectly fine for summer trout fishing.

Are there any special regulatins in this section? is it the standard keep 5, plus 5 brook trout under 8" or catch and relese only.

What about other streams in the area? Are there other streams that hold up to summer temps as well as 9mile? Is 9mile the best?

It's best to read the rules book for regulations on the waters you are fishing. Some places are in the process of eliminating the 5 brookie part. It looks pretty good about going state wide soon.

Frankly, how hard is it to (1)play by the rules?, (2)play nice with others?, and (3) check the water temps?

We all know the streams we fish are great resources but they can be ruined and take years to recover if at all.

How far down past Marcellus? Someone told me north/downstream from the Train Trestle is a good place.

Should I go to the public access spot right on the downstream side of the train trestle or down to the last public parking access before Camillus?

If I'm not mistaken the majority of the springs are in the 1 mile are of stream between those two points, correct?
