bass by Brad Stalter on Wed, Jun 23
Hey everyone,
Anyone mind sharing some thought on bass on the fly? Best times, morning or evening? locations in general where you can fish from shore, i'm in the city so within 30-45 mins? patterns?
any help is appreciated.

| wolly buggers stripped in work very well. bass on the fly is about all I've been doing lately with all the rain. Black works well as does green, but very bright streamers/buggers work very well too. They seem to be active all day (at least the pond I fish) but mornings and evenings are great times to try some surface poppers if the water is calm. |

| I fish with large marabou nymphs in the Finger Lakes - Brown, olive seem to be the best colors - Also small Perch colored streamers - Onondaga Lake and the outlet can have good fishing from shore with white streamer patterns - Early morning casting from the rocks where the lake meets the outlet can be good - Ugly place to fish - but smallmouths are feisty! I've always thought about giving Onondaga Creek through the city a try - although waving a fly rod there might get some odd looks? | |
