Salmon river Steel by Daryl on Wed, Apr 21

I am curious to know if it is still worth heading up to Pulaski for some spring steelhead, I have never been there in the spring fishing, I make the trip up in the the fall with spinning gear, but I have found myself leaving the spinning rods in the car and using my fly rod more and more. Just wondering if May is a good time to go up there, and what flies would you recommend, and what section of the river do you think is best this time of year. Thank for any help you can offer..Tight Lines

You can find a lot of good information on the Salmon Crazy website or that of Whitaker's. Fishing right now is pretty good despite low water conditions. Things will probably wind up a little earlier this year due to less water/quicker increase in water temps to drive the fish back to the lake. Not sure about how long into May it will be good, but it's worth a trip now especially if you're fairly local.
