fiddlers green by Brad Stalter on Tue, Apr 6

Hey I am interested in fishing fiddlers green, but was not sure where to park in that area? any suggestions?

also where do people park to get into the swamp on nine mile? I usually stick to the DEC spots, but would like to explore more of the stream.

Brad:

- To fish the swamp at Nine-Mile, park on the downstream side parking lot of the R.R.Tunnel and start fishing downstream.

- Also, about 1-1/2 miles downstream of the R.R.Tunnel is another parking lot (TU has a trash barrel and signs there). Can park there, hike through the mess/jungle down to the stream and fish either up or down.

- Note: If you fish upstream, plan on a 3 hour fishing session, as it will take you that long before you come to a path that takes you up to the highway. There are plenty of mud bogs between the stream and the highway, so can't take a shortcut back to the highway.

- This is a swamp and a bear to get into and walk up and down. The R.R. Tunnel section is ok, but below that it only gets worse. Yes, there are a lot of wild fish in this section, but you gotta "pay the price" as we say.

Good luck,

On the east side of the Butternut on Solvay Rd is a small parking area at the bend of the road. It's on the right side as you head east on Solvay Rd.
