Holdovers by Jerry Kells on Mon, Mar 22

After Fishing Limestone and Chittenango the last few days and talking with John Coxey, I am wondering where the fish are. Both John and I have fished hard the last few days and have very little to show for it. Chittenango had stones hatching off the water and no fish rising or hitting nymphs or anything else for that matter. Has anybody else had similar results or is it just us? I don't think we are getting the winter holdovers that we once had.

I know that a section of Limestone that I like was hit pretty hard by the catch and keep boys last year. Even in November I ran into a guy who was taking fish out.

Jerry, I know you have your favorite spots but have you tried from Whetstone Rd upstream? I know there's some pools there and it's not the easiest to access but it stands to reason that it does not get a lot of pressure so maybe some holdovers are there.
