Sterling Creek by Dave Collins on Thu, Mar 11

Does anyone know about the spring fishing at Sterling creek? I am new to the area and drove by it and it looks amazing. Any steelhead or browns? Any local guides? thanks a lot.

The lower section is private--RV park now--and it will hold most of the fish. Sometimes (frequently) the sluice way next to the dam gets "mysteriously blocked" (cough cough) so that the fish cannot move above the dam. If it is open, or the water gets high enough for the fish to jump the dam, then the fishing will be good up to 104, where the next dam is.

It's dependent on water flow--high water brings them (salmon and steelhead). It gets a wicked spring run of suckers, followed closely by an even bigger run of walleye.

Was out to my parents house on 104A and as of 3-24-10 we had Steelhead running up the the dam(falls) should still be good fishing if interested.
